Arteriogram

Has anyone had an arteriogram to close the fistula ? I have AVM in my right leg and they told me it had to be closed before they could work on the AVM. They also said they want to try to do vein ablation on it if possible.

Amanda, embolization blocks off the fistula -- the arteriogram is the mapping out (imaging) of the vessels that enables the embolization. Most members here have had arteriograms to image their AVMs before treatment. If you post a question in Extremity AVMs about an arteriogram for a leg avm, you can get more information.

Thank you still trying to get around the site I dont know why I have such a hard time. I went see him and he did embolization. Now I have these reddish patches on my leg that hurt and burn. The nurse called me today and said he told me I could have skin breakdown and would need to go see my doctor for an antibiotic I don't remember him telling me that but I will be going see my doctor Monday.

Amanda, talk to Eileen about this: http://www.avmsurvivors.org/profile/eileen

I believe she will be able to help explain what is going on with your leg. I'm sure she would be happy to friend you so that you can send her a message.
