Our 20 year old son has a 4.8 cm AVM in the Basal Ganglia. He had 2 bleeds in 3 days last fall and spent several weeks in the ICU and a rehab hospital. He has recovered well thus far. We have seen a miracle as our stay at the hospital was truly our worst nightmare.

His treatments have included embolization and he received 2 GK surgeries in the past 3 months. Thus far, he seems to be handling the treatments well. We are very thankful for that. I wanted to ask if anyone had received treatment for an AVM in this area of the brain and had any input that might help us? Thanks so much.

We have a number of members who have an AVM in the [@BrainCerebellum](https://avmsurvivors.org/groups/braincerebellum) area or a relative in the same position. These are the folk with the most similar experience, though honestly anyone with a brain AVM has experience to share.

Best wishes,

Richard
