Craniotomy in just over 2 weeks

That's wonderful news, Marc. I'm so glad for you!

So pleased to hear that Marc. Fantastic news! Try not to do any 100m just yet though! Hope you’ve managed to catch some of the olympics - its been great! I’m crossing my fingers for your post op angio. Any ideas when they will do it? Karen

That is awesome! I'm so glad it went well. My son is awaiting his angio also!

Marc, glad to hear everything went well. Similar to you, my AVM bled around my 21st birthday (actually on the day itself). I, like you, was sent home from the emergency room. My surgery lasted 13 hours. By the time I got back to ICU, it was well after 10 at night (after an early morning start). I was in the hospital 2 months - a month before and a month after. Hearing that your surgery lasted six hours and you were home 2 days later tells us how far medicine has come (my removal was 25 years ago). Glad to hear you are doing so well! If I had seen your post before your surgery I would have said not to worry about being put under - I have had 6 surgeries since the age of 18, for a total of 25 hours of being under sedation. Stay strong!

Marc,
I hope this all worked out for the best. I read your post with interest because I had a similar experience ending with a successful crainy 3 months before my 21st bday. It'll work out find. Going in and out of consciousness will be pretty much beyond your control. Try not to worry about it.
