Fatigue

I had hopefully last of 2 radiation treatments a week ago. Have felt pretty good until the last few days. Is it normal to feel super sleepy, ect. The treatment itself went great. No halo this time, thank the Lord! Just feel like I am sluggish. I can exercise but I feel like I have to push through then I am all worn out. I hate feeling this way. I have felt super good for a while now. My head feels all full like too. I just got through with my steriod dose pack yesterday morning.

Hi, Melissa, your post reminded me of our moderator Louisa, who also had radiation treatments, and a very useful post she once shared with us:

Wishing you a full recovery! It takes time to heal.

Hi Melissa, my partner also had staged radiotherapy and he was extremely fatigued afterwards. He had 3 stages, and 2 of them were worse tired wise than the other. The first lot took him 6 weeks to recover from, so if yours was only a week ago it certainly sounds normal - from what the doctors and other people also say. Although you have no surgical wounds to speak of (apart from maybe the holes the frame left!) you still underwent major surgery and should allow yourself plenty of time to rest and recuperate.
Hope you feel more energised soon, and wish you all the best x x

Fatigue is very common on here regardless of the procedure. http://www.avmsurvivors.org/main/search/search?q=Fatigue+

I just had radiation a week ago too! This is my second round and it's going much better than the first. I think it's very normal to be fatigued and, in fact, you are probably lucky if that's your only side effect! I only had 1 seizure this time, and I've been eating and sleeping... a drastic improvement over my first round of radiation! I still have the full/pressure feeling in my head, and I also had some crazy mood swings the past couple days. All was well through the weekend then yesterday and today I'd get really dizzy/uneasy/anxious/spacey out of nowhere for a few hours at a time

Hope you feel better soon, cheers :)

Melissa, it very well could be the radiation, but it could also be from the steroids. I've never done the pack thing, but when I came off the Dexamethasone all I wanted to do was sleep. Coming off of steroids too fast can be a real knock down. Where everyone is different, some need a slower step down then what those packs recommend. I truly hope today is better for you...take care

Well ,guess what? I had a dern seizure at work not long after my posting my question about fatigue. Somebody jinxed me. LOL… Now I can’t drive for a while. Oh well.

Sorry if I jinxed you!! At least you're in good spirits about it :)
