Thank you so much Carmel for your reassurance, i am going in Thursday and home saturday x
Thank you so much for your reply I have it done next week, good luck with your recovery too x
Barbara best wishes for Thursday the time will fly. The staff are lovely there. There is a hotel near the hospital in Sheffield if you have someone with you and need a place to stay. It’s a 2 minute walk to the hospital. They can leave the car in the hotel parking lot. All the best, there is nothing to worry about. let us know how you got on. Cheers Carmel
I agree with other survivors, the worst parts are the stereotactic helmet (going on and coming off!) and the lying on your back after the angiogram. I had the procedure over a single day, going in at 6am and leaving at 10pm.
I had to have the radiation treatment twice (three years apart) because the first dose did not quite do the job. The second dose introduced a few neurological effects, primarily an increase in left-side “sunburn” feeling. I think it is called “neuropathic pain”. The second dose was sixteen years ago and apart from tiredness I am still going.
Hi Martin.I too have avm in my left temporal lobe of size 1.3 cm .I have recently done cyberknife in this June. How was your avm size and how is your condition now.Has your avm completely obliterated by cyberknife.? Have you ever bleed after cyberknife.?
The AVM was not completely obliterated by the first Gamma Knife dose so I had to have a second dose after three years. I refused to have an angiogram to check after six years so as far as I know the AVM is now obliterated. I don’t think I have had another bleed.
Ok.thanks for the response.Martin .
