Hi Ahmad! I just wanted to follow up on how your GK is going? Did it work? Was your AVM obliterated? Doctors are giving us GK as the best option for our 9 year son with a small to medium AVM in his cerebellum that sits next to his brain stem… Just want some hope that it works… Thanks so much!

Thanks for reaching out, well to be honest it didn’t work for me for many reasons like:

  1. I was old when I did it and it shows better results with younger ages.
  2. My avm is considered large and Gamma Knife is not highly recommend with big avms.
  3. The doctor who did it for me is not very competent and doesn’t have success stories but unfortunately it’s the only center in my country.
    However, there are many support groups on Facebook if you use it and many success stories that would encourage you.
