Glaucoma after Embolization?

Hi Everyone,

I had embolization surgery on December 10th for my dural carotid-cavernous fistula and aneurysm. It was a successful surgery, but the vision in my right eye is different, as my fistula and aneurysm were on the right side.

My vision seemed blurry immediately when I woke up, and it hasn't changed since the surgery. It isn't better and it isn't worse, it's pretty much the same. While the blurriness comes and goes during the day (note: there is no double vision), the thing that worries me is that when I do more strenuous tasks like climb stairs rapidly or exercise at all, my right eye seems to have a lot of pressure in it and I can feel the pressure. It also looks very bloodshot after those activities as well.

I had my post-op consult with my neurosurgeon who suggested I see an ophthalmologist to check my inter-ocular pressure. I'm awaiting the dr. office to get back with me on scheduled appointment for that, but in the mean time I'd like to hear feedback from anyone who may be familiar with similar post-embolization symptoms and the outcome.
I am wondering if my embolization has resulted in Glaucoma in my right eye.

Thanks, and all the best to everyone in the new year!

Howdy - I do not have glaucoma-like symptoms but have a lot of "visual disturbances" and tiredness definitely exacerbates them. It's annoying bc sometimes you just want to do stuff but you have to manage these new symptoms! What you said about exercising causing additional strain makes sense to me but I've never heard of anyone reporting the actual development of glaucoma. bye :)atnt.

thanks for the reply! you're so right, it is tough to adjust to this "new normal." my first appointment with an ophthalmologist is tomorrow so I'm very curious to what he will say!
