Brooke, I have just read the whole thing while sitting and having my cup of coffee and you have put a huge smile on my face and a tear in my eye… I have followed your last few months of ups and downs and have really felt your pain. I think it is wonderful that you have the courage to jump on this site every time you need to vent. It is so important not to bottle things up. I am super glad you have such a wonderful friend to support you through this horrible time in your life too. My thoughts are with you and I hope you keep healing, good luck and I hope your left hand remembers what it is suppose to do soon ;)xo
Brooke, I read it all too. I also laughed & cried. I can’t imagaine going through this at your wonderful age…it was Hell on Wheels for me at my age!!..still can be too.
Keeping talking or writing to us please Brooke…
- Normal considering what has happened to you.
- Very normal.
- No…you do not want that
- Cuz you have been crying
- I think in the future you rely on some special girlfriends.
- Normal at your age
- See #7
- Frogs were mine at your age. Piggies are cuter.
- Wanna bet
- They make everyone hungry
- Learning experience…yeah they never are fun!
- Me too but Verizon is not getting them.
- Cheer up…mine is gray underneath…LOL.
- Get well first
- Who does not?
- I did!!!
Brooke, even though I have aphasia (which is a problem reading from my brain injury) I read every single word, even though it takes me more time since my brain injury.
You sound so much like I was at your age…I had one really great friend who was always there for me…I was different than the other girls in my high school…I was a hippy at that time and the other people in my school didn’t understand me at all. I was ahead of them in my thoughts. So when I read what you wrote, I totally understood how you are feeling, plus having an AVM problem…I totally understood your feeling about that.
Hang in there…Life gets better…your recovery will get better. You are an amazing person and I’m glad to know you!
I read it, and it made me smile.
I’m glad your best bud is making you use your left hand and that your homeschool teacher is nice. I shed, too. It used to make my mom crazy. She was constantly pulling my long hair out of her clothing.
Oh–and I didn’t really hang out with other girls, either as a teen. I was more likely to hang out with guys when I was in high school & college. I’d still rather go shopping by myself than with other women.
Hi Brooke!
I read it all too. I even went back and forth to see how Barbara answered the questions…I agree with Nadine that it’s wonderful that you write and contribute to this site. Yes my dear, you are an old soul and that is most definitely a compliment. Keep it up girl! Best to you always.
Oh, Brooke! I read the whole thing too. Made me wonder what I would write if I listed 100 things on my mind. I’m sure my daughter would relate. Probably all of my kids, but she is 19 with a brain AVM. Glad you wrote it all down to make us think and to make us smile. You may not have realized it’s impact at the time you were writing it. Hope to hear more from you! By the way, I love music, God is a good listener, forget Logan Hardee, glad you felt pretty, saying something nice to the cute facebook friend won’t be creepy, hope you get a new purse, I couldn’t wait to be 16 either, and I want cookies too.
I’m Alessandra’s mom and I read the WHOLE thing…it was great and insightful. She’s 6 months out of her craniotomy today and has a prefect 10" “pig” tail scare up the back of her head, the docs did a good job. She also just had a coiling and stent repair of another aneurysm in the front of her brain on the 14th of this month and 4 days later had a small stoke. She’s an artist and her right hand doesn’t work too good anymore but they said it’ll get better. I think you should talk with Alessandra. I’ll talk to her about it first though.
I read all 100
I read it.
I read it
Hi Brooke, I too read it, and the one word I'd like to reply back to you is
Thank you for sharing your feelings, Please know that your not alone, Your never alone :) , Take care.
Martin

I read your list and feel the same about several of your feelings. Continue to write, writing is very healthy. I have read some of what I wrote at the beginning of this life changing event and can see how far I have come and healed. Hoping you continue to share your feelings and improve every day.
Anxiety does suk…I love nerds too…they are the greatest! And Brooke, your mom, dad, and neighbor sound totally awesome!
