So after my visit at the rare vascular diseases center, they told me we’d do an embolization and Sirolimus drug treatment at the same time to try and reduce my blood flow as it could end up life threatening given its speed now and the size of my AVM.
There are definitely others here who’ve been prescribed Sirolimus. Did the doc explain what the purpose of it is?
And one of my favourite, favourite people who ever walked the planet had a bunch of embolizations for a rather large neck embolization, but unfortunately he’s not here to talk to us these days.
It’s supposed to contribute to slow down my blood flow with the embolization since my AVM is too large and with critical arteries involved to be left as found. I’ll learn more about that next week when I’ll meet the interventional neuroradiologist
So my sirolimus treatment is paused until I can meet a doctor at the international vaccination center to assess what vaccines I’ll need before the treatment begins. As for the embolization, I’ll have an angiogram on November 4th to assess how much my AVM evolved since 2016 and to find which arteries can be embolized. We are hoping to make it happen by the end of the year
