Headaces

I have had an anni coiling on Jan 22 and was diagnosed with AVM on the right side in the occipital lobe. I am finding I now have constant mind numbing headaces. Did anyone else expeince this? I am having embolisation and crani in April. Does this relieve the pain any?

In case of AVM survivors having headaches though varies case by case......but the presence of headaches for a long duration of your life time can never be undermined....the treatments (mine was Craniotomy) according to my experience have very little influence on reducing your headaches..only difference is before the surgery you might have One style of headache...after the surgery there is a completely different style of headache.......but the only thing that can be done is taking measures in identifying those scenarios which cause anxiety to your brain n cause faster thinking activity n therefore increase your blood pressure... reducing the instances where ur brain will be engaged in such areas u have identified that is causing u anxiety....for instance i can try to avoid driving to the extent i can avoid its better..... another instance i can try to avoid doing 3-4 tasks at the same time atleast when i am at home...i can't multi-task... :)

hope this helps...good luck :)

Thank you Santhosh. How long ago did you have your cranni? How long did it take to recover?
Thnak you for your input.

My surgery happened in April 2001 when i was 15 yrs old.... the surgery episode n physical hospitalization stuff was about 1.5 months...i entered into other post operative complications like liver partial failure...n them coma...n then 95% memory loss..n then rehabilitation etc..etc...today 12 yrs down the line... i have recovered 85%....but still struggle with regards to multi-tasking..slower grasping speeds....emotional trauma.... loneliness..... unable to match the speeds of common man...socialising etc.etc... i am still recovering... :)

OMG you have really been through it! Was your surgery on an emergency basis? I have not had any bleeds yet. I am hoping this will make my surgery go alittle better.I am glad to see your on the road of recovery.

thank you....my surgery was well planned.....no i did not have any bleeds or emergencies.... but as i said the climax started after the post operative medications...liver failure ..seizures..... coma etc etc

wish you good luck...pls keep faith... take care..

That is a nightmare! Was this something that happened shortly after taking the medication or is was it the long term effects? I couldn't even begin to imagine whatyou went through. I am glad to see you are doing much better.

thank u ....the doctors said that there was a post operative medication called Gardinal which actually proved the wrong choice for about 5% of the population..... unfortunately they discovered i was the one who belonged to that 5% after i slipped into coma....when i was in coma....i went through fits n convulsions(very very serious ones) n lost 95% of my memory power & whole body charred black with rashes(right from the root of the skin)....... as i said it was the side effect of that post operative medicine which proved to be wrong choice in my case.... today 12 yrs down the line the two scars...Memory Problem & Skin Blackening has cured 85% over a 12 yrs recovery period....i have a balance 15 % that is still in the path of recovery...but its far better comfortable life now....when compared to 12 yrs ago when i was in Coma.. :)

anyways wish u all the best n good luck for your pending treatment in April. pls keep faith.

Thanks,
Santhosh
