Hi - I'm "stuck", and I'm hoping that you can lend me your inspirational stories of how you overcame previous obstacles.
Hi Julie. Are you on FB? I belong to several positve thinking pages there. Sometimes after a long hard day it helps me to look at these pages and remember all the wonderful things in life.
I Have been reading books about people who have overcome challenges such as Stroke of Insight and Heaven is Here. I also listen to a positive affirmation tape every day and try to visualize myself doing things I want to do.
I think the first thing I did was, I had to come into acceptance of the things I can no longer do and the "problems" I now have. Once I did that, it was a lot easier for me to just "go with the flow". I too practice positive thinking and affirmations. Louise Hayes is one of my favorite authors on changing how we think. Wayne Dyer is another one.
To me - Our brain is like a computer...Some times we need to re-program it. And... Shut it down and reboot it every now and then to get us back into proper thinking. I think the biggest mistake we all make as humans is, letting our illness control us. I'm not saying my illness doesn't get the best of me at times but, I am able to bounce out of that mode rather quickly. To me, that's the key.....Not to stay in a negative way to long.
For the things I can no longer do.... I find a different way of doing them. It's often in the timing of my day. I'm at my best the first couple of hours after I wake up. The longer I'm up, the worst I get. So anything physical that I need to do, I do it shortly after I wake up.

Hi Julie, in what way are you 'stuck?'
Is it in your thinking? Self help books are good. Looking after yourself is important - a bit of pampering, I think we all have days when we feel stuck. Find what makes you feel better (nature? music? Mozart is good) and know that 'this too will pass.'

Hey All - Thank you.
I've taken some time to form this little nugget of wisdom:
It's not really the actual situation; it's your perception of the situation.
That was based off of a fb thing I try to feed my head with.
Also, @Ben, I listen to hayhouseradio.com once in a while and have Wayne Dyer clogging up my dad's DVR...I justify it as good brain food. =)
Thanks for all of the tips, reminders, and support.
