Yes, Andy, sometimes there is. And our members who have had gamma report that their doctors recommend certain restrictions while the radiation is having its effect, such as no lifting heavy loads. If you type "exercise" in the search box, you will find other discussions about physical activity and its effect on AVMs. I am glad you are recovering so well!
Depends on the kind of physical activity you do i suppose. I have an active AVM and went out dancing the other night and was okay afterwards (no drinking, just dancing! :))
There is possible correlation between some phhysical activity and bleeds since physical activity can raise your heart rate and blood pressure which in turn can cause stress on the vessels in your head and cause a bleed. I think in these cases it is best to talk to your doctor and ask him/her what your best options are for physical activity and what types should be avoided. I would think things like sprinting, heavy weightlifting (which is something I did a LOT of before my diagnosis) and any hard physical contact sports that could put you at risk for head trauma should be avoided for sure.
There are certain activities that I wouldn't see being an issue though as long as your are able. Yoga, as long as you don't do any inverted poses is fantastic, tai chi, walking and riding your bike (wear a helmet!) should all be okay for you if these are activities that your doctor thinks are okay for you to participate in.
