Just got back from my Neuro for my 2yr check up and CT showed everything was fine. No AVM regrowth but due to a dizzy spell i had on holidays my neuro was concerned about seizures.
I have to go back in 3 months time and have a EEG test done to make sure everything is okay in regards to seizures. Its been close to 2yrs now and ive been lucky but understand my chances of seizures are much higher than most normal ppl out there.
I have no idea what this test is going to be like and was curious if anyone has undergone this and what to expect, is it accurate etc? I have googled it and found it should be about 20-40mins and they stick all these suction caps on my head and face to measure the brain waves etc
God bless for the advice/info.
Hi Adrian. Due to a misdiagnosis my husband had to have a regular EEG plus a 24 hour EEG done a few years ago. In his words…it is a no brainer(pun intended) easy test. What they are looking for are abnormal waves which would indicate seizure like activity. I would recommend avoiding alcohol since alcohol lowers the brains resistance to seizures. Please keep us posted!
Thanks for the advice and info...well i dont drink, smoke or do any drugs at all so im physically pretty healthy and health conscious anyway.
I will keep you guys posted regardless...God bless
It is a piece of cake. Totally painless. The worst part, and it is bad, is takeing all of the electrodes off your head. They are really sticky. As far as accuracy it's pretty good but sometimes it isn't specific enough to tell you some exact things. If you are having seizures it should pick it up though. Good luck and God bless:)
