Hi Tina, I still have you and Rose in my prayers. Don't give up (which I know you won't). Keep pushing the drs. until you get satisfaction. Have they done a new MRI ? If not, I would demand it. This is all bull crap what your poor child is going through. Let me at those drs! It wouldn't be the first time I reminded them of what there job is and what I'm paying them for. Yea.. I wasn't always popular with drs. but, I did get results. Even if was just a referral.
I don't buy that explanation, Tina. The doctors told my brother-in-law his stomach pains were psychological, and finally many months and many doctors later, they found out he had an appendix that was severely infected and had had a mini-rupture. The doctors would like to think Rose's problems are psychological, because then they can hand her off to psych, but I find it much more likely that all of this trauma to her brain has brought her some kind of chronic pain. However, it does seem like homeschool may finally have been thrust upon you, at least until things get better. I suggest you friend moderator Patti G and tell her what you are going through; she knows a lot about pain.
The neurologist says there is nothing else he can do. The ER docs say they have tried every med and every combination possible. Nothing has made a diff. Rose got to ER yesterday and banged her head against the bed about 10 times and then banged her pillow against her face 10 times. That’s when doctor said she can’t have a headache if she’s banging her head.
The doctors did bloodwork and a CT scan. Everything came out ok. So doctors think she needs psychiatry and psychology to help her. I have trouble believing psychological problems are behind her being on the couch for more than 2 weeks and not eating three meals a day for more than 2 weeks.
But pediatrician, ER docs and neurologist are convinced there’s nothing medical going on.
