# Topamax/Topiramate and adverse side effects

Hi All, I was on topamax to try and gain control over my seizures, and ended up with terrible side effects and worse seizures to boot! One of the side effects was that the veins in my arms, hands and the palms of my hands became huge, permanently (till I weaned off the drug) … like I could have donated blood from my palm. I’ve looked through heaps of forums and yet to read of anyone else experiencing this, just wondered if any AVMers had it too? Thank you

I didnt have any vein problems…just severe depression, thoughts of suicide

I do not have any vein problems… just severe depression, just wishing I were not alive. I am still on the drug. It does help control all the other problems.
