Who is AVM free after treatments? Please post here in this new post. Thanks

I am AVM free after Cyberknife treatment!

Hi Rachel,

See my profile for complete details. My wife brain avm is cured by gamma knife treatment done 3 years back. We have confirmed this month by angiogram. Now a days lot of treatment for avm like embolization, radio surgery and surgery. Be confident. You will be cured soon. We will pray for you also.

Hello Rachel,
My AVM (details on my page) was treated through embolization done on three places during one intervention in July 2007. A first control MRI in October 2007 showed that it was successful and a last control MRI in November 2008 confirmed that there was no problem anymore.
My best wishes for you that you will get the same results.

hi rachel, my son matt is avm free. he had one large dose of gamma knife radiation throughout one day, and three years later, he is really well. keep positive, take care xxx

I’m happy to read of all those that have been cured! Filled my heart with hope!

We are still in the process of scheduling the Gamma Knife to treat my husband’s AVM (bled on 1/2/09). What kills me is the waiting. He met the Neurosurgeon already, next week is the Radiologist and “probably” by March is the treatment. And in the meantime I’m worried sick that this thing might bleed again.

I just live one day at a time.

I am AVM free after Cyberknife treatment

I had my AVM in 1999 and not much was known at the time about them. Hang is their is not what one wants to hear but thats all I herd for years. With Technology today there is big hope that it can be taken care of. Other than a simple seizure now and than now major problems.

Hey there, I had a grade 5 AVM and after 2-3 embolizations and a Craniotomy back in November 2007 it was sucessfully removed…
November 2008 i had a follow up MRI which showed that i was still in the clear and my brain was in the best order it could be…
Ive never been happier…

Hi, had a craniotomy 5 years ago to remove the avm and it’s all clear with no noticable problems.

I have 5 embolizations, and 10 surgeries. I have taken dioxicicline, talidomide, sunitinib and propanolol. There was no effects in my avm. My avm continue growing and it extend through my face

Had a crani at age 11. Grew back at age 26. had 2 embos and gamma knife since. I am 28 now and stable. No change with AVM since last intervention.

hello RACHEL.
i had 2 embolizations and radiation 2 years ago, now the doctors says , my avm is smaller than before, but not too much , so naow they say mayby a need more radiations , because still with headaches , thanks god, is not grew again!, good luck, i hope you fell better soon!!you know some peaple it’s get better in couple months, other peaple in years bye bye.

Has anyone had their AVM embolized followed by Stereotactic Radiosurgery with the new Novalis TX (not Gamma or Cyber Knife). I am interested in any cognitive side effects, frequency of seizures or bleeding after the procedures. My specific case involves a 3cm AVM deep brain / Frontal lobe on motor strip. Doctors said no technology out there could help me until recently. The imaging technology has been enhanced and now I can have my AVM removed.

After my AVM ruptured, Dr. Horner took it out and now there’s no more AVM. I was under the impression that this was standard procedure. I still have headaches and memory problems, but as far as the actual aneurysm itself, it’s gone.

Hey, that’s good. Your brain will start to heal itself now, but you’re AVM-free!!!

Rachel, i hope and pray for you too, i had a crainiotomy, my embolization was unseccessful, you are lucky. stay strong, have faith and let us know how you are doing by posting a BLOG xxxxx i check the Blogs more often than i check the discussion board. hense the delay in my reply to you

They say they got it, I’ll find out here in a couple weeks when I get my follow up CT. I only had 1 embro and they cut it out. They only could glue 2/3 of my AVM because the risk of losing my hearing, there was a big risk even during my surgery of losing it, but hey they still both work not 100% yet. My biggest pain is trying to find a ride, can’t wait to drive again, 2 more weeks to go.

I hope you are doing well. My husband had many embolizations before the AVM was removed. Hang in there.
