I can’t believe that I’m writing this.
I’m actually HEALED.
After 12 years of hell.
I had an AVM big as a lemon deep in my brain, too big to operate.
Due to the size and location it was too dangerous to do radiation therapy, it had to be proton therapy which wasn’t available in Sweden at the time.
BUT 3 years later 9 regions together bought it and I was the 5th person that did proton therapy and 3 years later I had a meeting with them. They said I had two options -
Do proton therapy again and possibly (high chance) sitting in wheelchair (paralysed in my left side)
or
Trust in new research that shows that proton therapy develops through year 4-6 as well.
And newly inlove as I was and all I wanted was to go back to the island I left to go to the meeting with the doctors - I took the chance to trust the new research.
3 years later the doctor called and I was declared healed. After 10 years of death anxiety. I was free.
