So, I had a follow up MRI done this week. I had a gamma knife procedure in 2005 to shrink my AVM. Unfortunately, I did not have any health insurance 2006 through 2011, so I was not able to follow up appropriately until this week. My Dr. found a brain cyst by some scar tissue when my AVM ruptured....Does anyone know what that means? Is this life-threatening? Apparently, Dr. reported that it is most likely to be filled with cerebral spinal fluid? If you have any advice or comments, I would like to hear them. Thanks.
It sounds to me it's normal. AVM has been obliterated and it's just sitting there with fluid around it. I wasn't told that mine is a Cyst at this time, but appears in the MRI as a cyst and the doctor told me it was just "water" or fluid around my dead avm.
Best to check back with the doctors on what they believe and explain it better for you.
Hope you can get some answers soon.
I did a search on here for you…

Hi Mary. I developed a cyst well below where my AVM was. It was discvered only 12 months after my GK treatment. On the MRI it looks like a thin sack filled with fluid. Doc said not to worry about it.
Interesting information. Thanks Jim!
Wow. Thank you for the information.
Thanks Barbara!
