Cerebral Angiogram

Have cerebral angiogram tomorrow morning. Heading to hospital today for steroids as I had allergic reaction to iodine dye when I had CT scan. Bit nervous but hoping all goes well :crossed_fingers:

Firstly, welcome! I’m certainly wishing you the best. It will be great to get this done as it is will provide the information to determine what might be next steps. Take Care, John.

Have a good day!

What surprised me about neurosurgery is how laid back neurosurgeons are about the dire circumstances we feel we are in. So what I expect you’ll find is that they are much slower than you’d like. It took me a month from initial detection to getting an MRI, a further month for the radiographer to write his report back to my ENT consultant, another month to be referred to neurosurgery and get to see a consultant in neurosurgery. It then took a further 5 months for me to get to the front of the queue for a catheter embolization procedure to block it off. So hang in there! It may take longer than you’d think, though I hope mine is the worst example of time lag.

If it works anything like in England, when you’ve had today’s procedure, the neuro team will likely discuss your case as a team to derive their recommendations for you. Then one of the team will have you in to agree the next steps. When they tell you about that, you’ll be able to read on here about others who have gone through similar or ask us about how we got on with things.

You’ve got it! You are not alone.

Welcome!

Richard
