After struggling to get my focal seizures under control I was swapped from 1000 mg of Keppra over to 100 mg of Briviact. Wow! I feel so much better. I’m not as irritable, not as tired, and it actaully seems to do something about my seizures! The worst I’ve had while on it has been a couple of auras and now I can’t seem to ever find the word I’m looking for (anyone else experience this?).
Now to wait for my LITT consultation coming up in June.
Sounds good!
I’d say if you continue to struggle to find the right words, go and talk to the doc. When you get near to sixty it’s a pretty darned normal thing! But in your twenties is more likely to warrant to talk to the doctor about.
Good luck! I hope you find the right balance. I believe with drugs it is always a matter of finding the best balance for you: there’s not always a perfect answer.
I had a review with my doc yesterday for my drugs for a different condition: another thing about getting through your fifties is that you start to collect medical conditions: and while I’m getting on great with the drugs for the purpose that they’re prescribed, one of the potential side effects is gynaecomastia . I suggested yesterday that all was fine but on reflection, I might have to keep an eye on that. The impression I got was that if it proves to be an issue, he’ll swap me to something else.
So it’s a balance. If it’s not right in one way or another, don’t assume it’s the only option.
