I finally got confirmation that my stroke in September 2012 was due to an AVM. It completely obliterated with the stroke and now I have the same chance as anybody else does to have a stroke. My only lingering problem from the stroke is I have trouble writing. If I write slowly and carefully I do ok but when I have to write quickly at work to take notes I have trouble. I was very lucky and am so grateful to be about to completely close this chapter of my life. I get an EEG in March to check for any lingering seizure activity (I had a grand mal with my stroke), then hopefully can go off the Dylantin I take for seizures. I should be able to drive again March 6, 2013 and that will be a huge relief.
Hi Sooterbyrd! Congrats! I love it when I see or hear that an AVM has been obliterated! Being able to drive again is wonderful! You will probably continue to see improvements as time progresses. While I know it seems like an eternity…your brain is still healing! Please keep us posted!
That is really wonderful news Scooterbyrd. I love that word obliterated myself and so glad that you have had very few after effects from your stroke Are you able to type faster than you can write with your hand?If so, maybe carrying a tablet when you have meetings at work would be helpful with or without a keyboard. Just a thought:-) Thanks for posting some great news!!
I LOVE hearing the word "obliterated" associated with an AVM --- I'm sure this was a relief for you to close this chapter in your life --- time for you to celebrate!!!
Peace be yours and wishing the best for you and your appointment in March!
