Back in 2006 through to 2008, they said that my double vision may go away on its own and not to have corrective eye surgery then because I would just have to repeat things. What year is this? lol. A lot of things have changed for me since the end of 2006 (including my insurance coverage going to medicare). While the vision is getting slightly worse (it’s an age thing), the double vision is getting really old. I will probably opt for eye surgery to correct the double vision. Right now my choice is Dr. Annis Melinda Rainey to do the surgery. She comes highly recommended, I met with her twice, and she knew all about the AVM thing, but I just wanted to touch base with you all before I scheduled the surgery. Here’s a website with more info about her.
Hi Suzy-I had eye surgery on my left eye b/c it was crossed, and I had to wear an eye patch to see somewhat - hot look, BTW:) With it, I had double vision, so that was a blast.
I haven’t heard of corrective surgery before for double vision…just prism glasses…do tell.
Wow Suzy. I hope it works for you. I have prism glasses but I don't have double vision. Just lack of vision. The prisms move everything to the right to compensate for my field cut on the right. Let us know when you're having the surgery. It sounds very exciting!
Trish, I didn't realize that you did not have double vision. Sorry about that. But we love either way ;) "Jules, I had to wear a patch before I got the prisms and I was definitely styling. I had one with soccer balls on it and several colors but they all made me look like a pirate. Mothers were very scared for their children when they saw me (wait, they still are…). It seems that as a result of the surgery a nerve was cut that controlled my vision and put everything out of whack causing my double vision. (You can tell I’m no doctor…lol). Dr. Rainey believes she can repair it surgically using another facial nerve. It is very exciting and she said "you can lag along with the double vision thing or have the surgery". I think five years is long enough, don’t you? I’m just saying. Love you two (and a bunch more) and will definitely let you all know how it goes. I’ll have the surgery probably sometime in January. No rush, I waited five years. What’s two months?
