Having my right frontal craniotomy on Nov 7, more nervous this time than what I was for the embolization.
A perfectly normal reaction. Just remember a lot of us have been through it too! I marked Nov 7 on my calendar to say some extra prayers.
I had my right frontal too!! Good news is, they don’t shave off too much of your hair but don’t worry, they’re pros, and it’s much better than having an operation post-trauma like mine was because they had to emergency operate. & one of the girls in my rehab had her’s operated on in time, & she didn’t take long at all to recover!! I was so jealous…but I think the worst part was really the memory problems, but that might’ve been from the bleed itself because the paramedics took so long to get me to the hospital >:( but you’ll be Ok I promise. Just try not to worry & trust your doctors/surgeon. They’ve done it before & had to go through years on years to get their PhDs. Plus if you think about it, if you had been somewhere inconvenient when it bled, you would’ve been much worse off. At least you found it in time. Good luck though!! You’ll be fine!!
I will keep you in my prayers...its normal to feel this way & let us know how it all goes...God bless
Stay Strong & Positive! We will be thinking and praying for you! Please keep us informed regarding your progess!
I'm a little late but I hope everything went well with your surgery. I look forward to seeing your update soon.
Thinking of you hope all has gone well for you and on that road to recovery (-:
Wishing you the best. Maybe you'll be starting to come to today. I think I was in the hospital for 10 days. All the best.
Hi - I just had a right frontal lobe craniotomy to remove an AVM 3 weeks ago and am recovering extremely well. Your scar area will be sore for awhile, but I have not had any bad headaches or other deficits and was off narcotic pain medicine after two weeks.
Your stamina will improve a little every day. I was very nervous also. I will be sending healing thoughts your way.
Thank you all for the thoughts and prayers. Sorry I didn’t update sooner. Surgery went fairly well. I lost too much blood during surgery and had to have a blood transfusion. They were worried after surgery because I was sleeping so much that they thought I was slipping into a coma. The craniotomy was for a right frontal AVM. During the surgery he found that the AVM was connected to my optic nerve, so on top of worrying about left side paralysis, which I don’t have any signs of that, they’re worried about my vision now, and that I mayos silly have complications and problems with it. They had to shave a good bit of ,y skull down where the AVM and optic nerve were connected. I’ve been in a good bit of pain since the surgery. The surgery site is sore and tender, looks awesome though. The doctor did a great job with the incision, and stitching it back up. It’s healing great. I’ve been having quite a bit of pain behind my right eye, and what feels to be deep in my sockets, but that’s going to happen considering all that he had to do. After the craniotomy they went through my femoral artery and had to expand some of the blood vessels,so I had the right groin pain on top of all of this too lol. The surgery was Thursday the 7th, and that following Tuesday I was discharged and sent home. They said it would have been sooner but because of how out of it I was and how much I was sleeping, they wouldn’t allow me to go home as they wanted to make sure I wasn’t slipping into a coma. That Monday I had my angiogram done to make sure all of the AVM was removed and it sure was!! God has brought me a long way and I know has big plans for me for me to go through all of this, and barely have any complications from any of e surgeries that have been performed!
Iam so happy you are just fine and doing well on the road to recovery...God bless
Welcome back I knew it would go well for you now on that road to recovery and you be able to put this all behind you and enjoy your life your cured (-:
