My wife has just got done having her second Embo in a week on an avm in the left parietal. I was wondering is the headaches and sickness suppose to be around for a while or is it just different case by case? Her Dr says it would go away after a day or two and when we came to the hospital this morning she was still feeling the effects from the last one pretty heavily. When I got to see her tonight they had given her all the medicine that they could but she was still in severe pain and still getting sick. I am scared to death that if they release her tomorrow we won’t be able to handle her or know what to do besides bring her right back. She says this is the worst her head has ever felt and if they can’t do enough for her here what can we do different at home? Any insight would be greatly appreciated, since it is supposed to be gone after a day or two. Thanks
Hello Everyone is different I was like your wife and in pain and quite sick to my stomach. They sent me home with tramadol which does not make me throw up and gave me some strong 8mg to 12mg of anti nausea meds. Make sure she gets these before they release her.
Make sure she eats something like bread or a baked potato before she takes her pain meds at home this helps a great deal. Also for me we have many ice gel packs which were helpful with my head pain. Its great she has you to take care of her and be her advocate. She will need lots of sleep and probably wont be hungry but make her eat. Also lots of water and if she likes coconut water.
Best of luck let us know how she is doing
