Eye Twitching?

I have noticed the past two weeks that my eyes are starting to twitch. It's comparable to that nervous eye twitch that we all have experienced from time to time, but it's lingering and it's on a daily basis. I see my epilepsy doctor tomorrow to follow-up since my grand mal seizure a couple of months ago. However, I'm concerned about the twitching, which I will for sure bring up to her. But I was wondering if anyone else has experienced this? I'm afraid it will get worse and end up as a permanent nervous tic that is noticeable.

Thanks dancermom. I have read through the history of the posts. Doesn't seem to be no real solution for it :( I'll talk to my doctor tomorrow morning about it and report back!

My left eye has been twitching off and on for two days now so I am curious as to what your Doctor has to say about it. I assumed it was due to dry eye so I have been using lubricating eye drops. I’m schedule, in a month, to go to the eye Dr for my yearly appointment so I thought it could wait till then. After reading the link posted by Dancermom I am nervous because it is my left eye and I had damage from the embolisation to that eye. The lubricating eye drops seen to work, though. Btw, my eye Dr. Said you should never use Visine brand eye drops for some reason, except lubricating drops, because they have other stuff in them that can make it worse.

I had a full eye exam (a referral from my neurologist) about a month ago after my grand mal and had the eye twitching (amongst other things) but thought it was the after-effects of the seizure. It was about 3 weeks after the seizure. But the eye doctor said whatever was going on was from changes in the brain from my avm, not eye-related. He said I have a lot of blood vessels than the average person behind my eyes which would confuse my neurologists into thinking I have swelling- which is the reason why they sent me for the exam after my seizure. But my visual disturbances are not related to anything that they can take care of. However, it died down for a few weeks and now all of a sudden, it started back up again. My avm is on the left occipitemporal - the twitching is mostly on the right eye, with pain the goes down to the cheekbone on both sides at times. It's strange! I have lubricating eye drops from the eye doctor. They haven;t helped but I drop them in my eyes in the evening. I'm afraid to use anything anymore, lol. I will keep you posted.

So my epilepsy doc has ordered a bmp, she thinks either my electrolytes are low, stress, lack of sleep, or caffeine could be causing the eye twitching, but she cannot really pinpoint it if my blood test comes back normal. But it's best to bring it up at my 6 month follow up with my neurologist in August.

That’s interesting you should say that. After your post, I googled eye twitching and found it could be due to caffeine and stress(I forgot other things). The morning of the eye twitching I had lots of caffeine so that’s what I attribute it to. I had stress from the eye twitching. Ha ha
