Hello, David, this former discussion may be helpful to you: http://www.avmsurvivors.org/forum/topics/cerebral-avm-vision-recovery

i lost half my vision after my embolization and radiation treatment. i now only see out of half of each my eyes. so yes, it can. depending on where the avm is as well. my vision loss was from the scar tissue that formed on my brain after the treatments tho.

Ditto to wat Janine said, only my vision loss was after a craniotomy instead of an embolization. But even prior to the surgery, I had lost about 10% of my vision due to the pressure of the AVM pushing on my optic nerve. The surgery took made it an even 50% in on the right side of each eye.

Location has a lot to do with it. I lost vision to the left if both eyes as a result of a bleed. My AVM was in the occipital lobe which is the area that controls vision.

Yes, if the avm is located in a certain spot, it can affect the eyesight. My son lost partial vision after his avm surgery last month.

Had a craniotomy and lost my peripheral vision to the lower left on both eyes - my AVM was right temporal.

Following craniotomy to remove avm from occipital lobe, lost left sided peripheral vision permanently. Occasional loss of vision upon awakening. Hope this helps.

I lost vision in my upper left quadrant after crainotomy. No problems after 4 embolizations. So, yea.
