Garcinia Cambogia

Dear friends,
Has anyone tried the diet supplement Garcinia Cambogia? I ask because it warns against people with risk of heart attack or stroke taking it. Now, we all know, AVM bleeds are NOT technically considered strokes. But they do share symptoms. And, when asked what's wrong with my leg, in public (I know, isn't that a polite way of phrasing it?) I usually say I've had a stroke -- I'm a writer and I know it's mean, but, depending upon my mood, I sometimes fabricate elaborate stories to go along with my stroke fiction.)
Anyhoo, Me, AVM bleed, not stroke. question: should I take garcinia cambogia?

Here's the punchline: I need to lose weight because I'm at risk of stroke.

What a hoot, huh? If I had a stroke, my Mom wouldn't even win a suit in court against the Garcinia Cambogia people.

So, please, tell me omebody has taken it without any problems.
Blessings to you all, Janine

Hi Janine. Just curious…who told you an AVM bleed was not a stroke? It is classified as a hemorrhagic stroke. I really would recommend you talk to your doctor about any weight loss supplements.

I feel like you’d be OK since AVM strokes are hemorrhagic where as ischemic strokes are due to blockage of the vessels carrying blood to the brain. Thus, it could be that it has more to do with the more common ischemic stroke than the hemorrhagic stroke.

I disagree, mdiam, as the risk may be from raised blood pressure, which could definitely pose an avm risk. Janine, if you see a diet supplement all over the internet for sale, and it seems too good to be true, it probably is too good to be true. Green coffee extract, the most recent fad, caused a lot of damage to people, including liver damage and deaths.
