My son had AVM removal last year. He went to inhouse rehab for a little over two weeks and had a few sessions of out patient therapy. He is the father of three and has no medical insurance or income. Is there any programs beside medicaid, which has turned him down, that he might be able to get the therapy he needs. He was left paralyzed on his right side.
Cindy, many hospitals have financial assistance for services for the uninsured; they may also have social workers who can work with your son. Also, he should get a lawyer specializing in SSDI to help him get on disability. For basic care, here is a list of free or low cost clinics in MS: http://www.needymeds.org/free_clinics.taf?_function=list&state=ms
He can also contact http://www.mhap.org/ or http://www.patientadvocate.org/ for help.
