Today is my daughter's golden birthday. While I was familiar with golden anniversaries, golden birthday was a new term to me so I verified it on the internet. Lauren is 23 today on January 23. Lauren was my 2nd emergency c-section and during my first year of recovery, a therapist told me after learning both of my children were c-sections that my AVM had not burst since I didn't have to push. My pregnancy had its unpleasant times of vomiting and nausea and Lauren was colicky while her digestive system was in turmoil. Then, she became a very happy baby and I have fond memories of the early years. Lauren and her older brother were instrumental in saving my life almost 4 years ago when my AVM burst. Their father was at an exam for his job and met his children and me at the hospital.
The birthday girl is finishing up her senior year at college about 2 hours away from here. She is earning a dual major in Marketing and Art. She calls me at least 3 times each week and spoils me with gifts of jewelry, clothes, and beauty supplies.
I am thankful to God for my many blessings especially my family and I pray for good health for all AVM members of this wonderful community.
