After my Avm rupture, 5 embolizations and radiation I am suffering daily with headaches and fatigue. Medication makes it worse. Advil helps but I try to avoid it to save my stomach. Anything for energy just goes to my head and makes me tired.
Has anyone found relief after all these years from brain trauma? Thanks in advance!
The main thing I do for relief from fatigue is dancing. My doctor recommended exercise, and other research I have done myself suggests that dancing is excellent exercise for the body and the brain. It activates several regions of the brain, improving connections of your mind and body. I found an article from Harvard that explains the benefits: https://hms.harvard.edu/news-events/publications-archive/brain/dancing-brain
My dance style of choice is Latin, such as Cuban salsa and Brazilian forró.
Hello! For me, no single thing gets rid of headaches. A mix of medication and lifestyle modifications has given me relief. Learning what my triggers are has been really helpful, of course. But I still get headaches, just less frequently.
Acupuncture has helped me a lot with fatigue. The results only last a few weeks after stopping treatment, though.
Hi, prior to the embolization for my avm, I was going to a cranioosteopath in the hope it might reduce my tinnitus. The tinnitus was unaffected but my headaches greatly improved about 2 months in (fortnightly sessions). I’m going to book more in as soon as my post embolization complications settle. Headaches and fatigue are currently a daily challenge so I am hopeful they might improve a little.
