Has anyone heard of "Interactive Metronome"and does it work?

I ran across an at-home therapy called IM and I just wanted to see if anyone had success with it. I am meeting with a Occupational Therapist next week face-to-face for an evaluation, but I was hoping to have a little incite on what to expect and whether it’s a waste of my time. I told her that I was interested in exercising my Neuroplacity and she said that’s exactly what IM does.

I did a search on here for you…http://www.avmsurvivors.org/main/search/search?q=Metronome

The query was asking about IM's usefulness.
It has been strongly research and now broadly available as a tool to improve the timing within a person's brain and neurological system.
As a Certified Provider for 12+ years, I hae found that the protocol does bring a measurable improvement to the cognitive system by using simple and isolated body part movements and attempting to have the trainee MOVE a 'part' in response to an auditory sound.
Think: hand clapping together! The system measures the 'time it takes' between the sound heard through headsets until the hands contact each other, example. This small span is a person's timing! The more concise the response time, the more integrated a person's transmission rate muscle to brain.
Hard to explain but a powerful modality.
More questions: please email.
I maintain a web sitewww.brain-train.biz (http://www.brain-train.biz) and am able to deliver training virtually with the IMHOME Unit.
Best, to you and your efforts to aid.

Thanks Diane.

Thanks to all that replied. I have an evaluation set-up for Wednesday. This sounds like the “creative” thing that I’ve been looking for. I’ll let you know how it works out!
