Insurance

Does anyone recommend a good health insurance plan in Oregon for a young 26year old female with avms in her lungs? I’m having trouble deciding what the best plan will be for potentially 2-3 surgeries a year plus MRIs all time. I don’t qualify for financial assistance by still cant afford the debt this can send me into in the future for out of pocket pay limits. Anything helps…considered disability… I really don’t know much about that though either. Thank you!

I don't have any personal knowledge on this topic, Jessica, but I would suggest getting the lowest out-of-pocket maximum that you can find. These pages might be a good place to start investigating:

It’s a difficult choice, Jessica. Dancermomom gave you a great place to start. The best thing you can do is educate yourself (just like with your AVM’s), and do what you feel is right for you. I just went through that process, and I’m paying $1,559 per month for me and my family’s healthcare.

I’m don’t know what your situation is, but getting approved for disability can take some time. Once approved, it takes two years before you’re eligible for healthcare.

I know it’s not easy, but I hope this helps. All the best!
