We lost our home to a fire last night. Not sure what started the fire but once it hit the basement the air compressor blew up and the house exploded. We didn’t have time to get anything out and nothing survived the fire. Now we have nothing except the clothes on our backs.

Bloody hell!
Is everybody ok? Do you have pets that you got out? Are you insured? Have you got somewhere to stay?

We got our animals out and it was just me and my boyfriend living there, physically we are okay. Our cat was scared and tried to hide and after we got the dogs out we ran back in to get the cat we couldn’t see anything and we couldn’t breathe because the smoke was so bad but we managed to get him out before the house blew up. We almost didn’t make it out with the cat but we did. We do have insurance but we aren’t sure if they will cover anything because the fire department hasn’t determined the cause of the fire yet. Even if they do cover anything it won’t be nearly as much as we had in the house and we only had fire insurance not home owners insurance so we can’t get anything we owned replaced. We are currently staying in a hotel until we can figure something out.

Well, I hope the insurance covers as much as it should. Nobody should have ifs or buts about insurance at a time like this*. I also hope the fire department give you the right outcome!
*Though insurance is somewhat infamous for being really unhelpful, I know that.

Ohh NO!!! How devastating.
Never good, but glade you and your animals are all safe. The other things can be replaced, life cannot.
Are you able to find accommodation in your area? I know some regions have some real issues with suitable housing. Hope you find something and soon.

For now we are staying in a hotel for a week that my boyfriend’s sister was kind enough to pay for. After that we aren’t sure what’s going to happen yet.
I’m so sorry, that’s just devastating. I’m glad that the two of you and your pets are out safe.

OMGosh!! I’m so sorry this happened to you!! You totally didn’t deserve this after dealing with AVM hell. But you definitely have a guardian Angel looking out for you guys. I know it’s not any consolation but at least it was all material loss and every life in there got out safely

Oh my goodness. I know you have heard I am sorry that this happened. Is there anything you know of that we could do to help you? Send you clothes, I just don’t know what to say. Is there a Go fund me page set up for you. Maybe a friend could help do that for you. I will keep you and your family in my prayers.

Must be so extremely hard. Just going thru AVMs seems impossible some days. I can’t imagine how u are feeling. I’m so very sorry. Take care. Things seem to get better amazingly…

We are hanging in there
Currently living in a camper in my boyfriend’s parents driveway
Insurance did pay out full policy but since we were very underinsured we only got back a fraction of what we lost
Unfortunately it’s very hard to find anywhere right now with the housing market and the economy being so crazy high at the moment
We had thought we found a nice house but then upon further investigation it was extremely infested with bed bugs so we backed out of that one
We have another house we are trying to look at so fingers crossed that some better luck might be coming our way
