hello everyone, i had an cerebral AVM burst in 2011, by which i was send to coma later on i found to be safe, but i was parallized for 6 months and recover gradually, but still my left leg is feeling like tingle, can any one tell me when my leg will be perfect like before, and also due to the blood clot in my brain was for 3 months the weight of the blood compressed my lest side vision nerve and my left ear too, now i cannot see my left side objects nor i can hear from my left ear. any cure for my problem..? any one is there who is suffering with the same.
Omair, many members have had one-sided weakness after a bleed and vision damage, too. I don't hear much about vision coming back again over time, though I would recommend you check with your doctor. For the leg, improvement is still possible, but no one can guarantee that it will be just like before. If you can walk and exercise, that is terrific.
no magic cures and have to accept that you may never go back to where you were before.I'm 7 years removed and nothing has been regained in my right hand. Just have to adapt.
I didn’t have a bleed but swelling after gamma knife. I was paralysed down my right side and 4 years later I can walk though I still have weakness in my leg but my arm has never regained full function. I think everybody’s different and our bodies heal at different rates. Good luck to you.
For vision, I don’t know if this is medically correct - but I was told for my husband’s vision that when I put on a video to watch on the laptop to keep inching it into the vision field that is not working to little by little expand the vision field. Seems to have helped as now he can focus in the middle whereas before it was only to the sides. My husband can’t speak yet - only beginning to try forming words. But I’ve watched his eyes closely. I don’t know about hearing.
Hello Omair,
I suffered an AVM (which later burst) in the left side of my cerebellum. Since the cerebellum is the only part of the brain that controls the same side of the body, my left side is much weaker than my right.
However, with years of therapy, I am sllowlly improving, as I'm sure you will too.
Good Luck.
After surgery to remove an AVM from my brain I was left with right-sided paralysis. Regained upper body function within 2 weeks but was left with right leg paralysis. It's been that way for over 40 years, but I have been able to adapt with the help of leg braces.
I believe in persistence and in the the motto…NEVER GIVE UP! I really believe that some time n the future science will catch up to our deficits. In other words…they will figure out a way to regenerate brain cells. Please do not give up hope and continue to do the best that you can.
It has been 25 years since my avm ruptured. My peripheral vision to the left in both eyes is gone. I will always hold out hope for it to return but for today I must accept that it most likely will stay like that. you will learn to navigate differently and have frustrating times as I still also have. Find someone you trust , where you feel safe to just rant and let it out. keeping it in will destroy you. I also have sezuires and have been under control, August we thought I had a mini stroke but was confirmed yesterday that my med.'s are not working anymore so after 24 years of controlled sezuires I am on the road to finding another drug. thank you for sharing your frustration because it reminds me to practice again what I have been saying to other people entering into new struggles. .Stay strong
PLEASE pray to God for helping you to continually heal, Omair, and the 'Power From Within' can make miracles happen! It worked for me, so I know it does happen!!
