Medic Alert Bracelets

Hi everyone;
I was just shopping for medic alert bracelets. I was amazed to find out that AVM and AVF were not listed as suggested medical conditions for engraving An I missing something?

No, you’re not missing anything. I got a medic alert bracelet but I had to add AVM rupture in brain in one of the customizable fields. It’s a little hard to find the right bracelet that will have enough room to write all the pertinent information.

I got a custom engraved bracelet from amazon. It was a cheap 12 dollar one. Nothing fancy. It has my name, “brain AVM”, and my mom’s cell phone number. On the inside it says “more info on Iphone.” It is about the quality you would expect but I didn’t need anything fancy and it gets the job done. The company that made the bracelet also sent a blank business card style medical info card. I haven’t yet, but I will fill it out and keep it in my wallet.

I got one of these

In fact, I bought two or three over time as I either wanted to be more obvious or after my embolisation I wanted to state my condition differently. I found the text to be long enough, the band to be very comfortable (ok for 24 hours a day, stayed on in the shower etc) and durable enough not to lose any legibility.

I probably wore the band(s) for 2-2½ years overall but I’m more comfortable about my risk post op not to wear one these days.

Getting a band is a very helpful thing as it helped me to relax about the possibility of a stroke.

I had the same issue. I purchased an inexpensive one from Amazon. I simply added this custom text:

No MRI
Aneurysm Clips present

This is critical for me because the clips present are from almost 60 years ago. And are only attached to blood vessels.
