It’s been almost a year since my symptoms initially started and I have once again began having headaches and vomiting. After a ct and MRI and a trip to see my neurosurgeon he believes I may have another blood clot which is what caused my AVM in the first place… So now I’m scared of what the angiogram is going to show tomorrow… Basically I’m asking for prayers… Bc if there is another blood clot will there be another AVM? I want so bad to have a child with my husband and we can’t do this until there are no more active things going on!! Thanks ahead of time for the prayers!!
Prayers sent please send in return I’m just starting with them am not sure what’s ahead
Prayers for you Amanda what has kept me and my husband strong is trusting in The Lord and our doctor!!
Ya I have been doing the same. How many do you have if I can ask?
I had four AVM I think… I’ve had two gluings, a clip, and Gammaknife… And it was all caused by a blood clot…
they tell me the blood in my head is flowing so fast they can’t cut on it did you have a prob like that
That sounds like an indication that you need doctors with more expertise. All AVMs are high flow -- that is their nature. If the doctor gives that as a reason, I doubt he has much experience with AVMs?
That can't be right, Brittany. Blood clots do not cause AVMs. There is some miscommunication here. An AVM hemorrhage, however, can cause a blood clot.
I see on some websites that there is a theory out there that the clotting of a vessel in utero might cause an AVM to form in a developing baby. Perhaps that is what your doctor was referring to? That theory is no longer widely accepted, though the information appears on older websites. Newer evidence shows genetic markers that are different in AVM patients affecting vessel growth.
I will be praying for you Brittany
I did not have that problem… The only problem I had was the location of one of mine and being unable to do surgery so they did Gammaknife
Prayers to you from Germany !
You are in my prayers, God bless you and your hubby during this difficult time
Praying....
Brittany, dancermom is correct. Blood clots do not cause AVMs. You need to seek another doctor. One that is experienced and knowledgable about AVMs.
I am very confident in my doctor and he wasn’t sure what caused the AVM but since I had a complete block in the major vessel where the AVMs stem from he thought that “may” have been the cause but I am happy to report there was no blood clot the two AVMs he treated with Gammaknife one has completely closed and the other has slowed a lot!! So we were given the great news we could start trying to have a child!! Thanks to those who have prayed for me!
That's great, Brittany! Be sure to tell your neuro about any new symptoms that may arise during the pregnancy.
Thanks and I will!
