Sorry to hear your current situation, certainly a tough spot to be in. Having a job and a truck is a great base to begin to make steps to getting a more stable situation. My immediate thoughts in the short term are, laundry mat for laundry, not sure size of access where you are but might be a possibility. Showering is often available at YMCAs or temporary shelters, given your situation they would likely allow access with your explanation. Another thought, and I have known people who purchase a cheap gym membership, some as low as $10 a month, and they have showers. I wish I could be more help but don’t know what may be available in your state. Maybe my thoughts might get a few more suggestions out there. Take care, and stay strong! John

Being that I’m in Australia, our systems are a little bit different. I know the processes here, but in the U.S., my knowledge is limited.
But many of the church groups or Salvation army have an outreach service. Many of these types of services network with each other as none of them can offer everything themselves. Often by linking into one you can gain access to other available services.
Also because you have a ‘suspected’ diagnosis you may be able to access services via Brain Injury Association of America https://biausa.org/ I’d suggest contacting them to investigate your options before you need them. Having some information regarding what sort of assistance maybe available maybe very advantageous. Trying to navigate the systems can be a bit of a nightmare sometimes, trying to do so when you’re unwell only makes it more challenging. Some hospitals also have a social work department, if you are under the care of a specific hospital, they maybe able to assist your access to a social worker. It’s their role to know the services available in their local community and how to link into them.
