I am trying to get some advice for a type of shades to help me to try to get my life back on track. Sunlight and strobe light effect like going through trees. Anyone have any advice?

I’ve no direct experience of what you’re going through but epilepsy action UK has the following guidance page:

Photosensitive epilepsy - Epilepsy Action.

Some people with photosensitive epilepsy may also benefit from wearing special glasses with dark or filtered lenses. Studies show that wearing glasses with a dark cobalt blue lens, called a ‘Z1 lens’, can help prevent photosensitive seizures.

These lenses work by reducing the total amount of light and filtering out red light, as this colour light is most likely to trigger a seizure. Glasses with Z1 lens are not suitable for use whilst driving.

Thank you. I found them online. I didn’t know if it was a scam. I was try to see if anyone had heard of them or tried them. I’m glad you joined conversation.

I’ve done a little searching online and I don’t believe it’s a scam of any kind. However, in the same way that different coloured lenses work for different people with dyslexia (i.e. orange might work for one person, green might work for a different person) it seems that although cobalt blue lenses work for some people with epilepsy, it doesn’t help everyone.

So if it is something you can afford and you think it could help, then it is something you could try but it’s not guaranteed to help everyone.

I hope you might find one or two others who have tried these things.

Very best wishes,

Richard

Thankyou for the advice on the thermaspec sun glasses. The company themselves were awesome. They let me try and then return until I found the right shade for me. So far, they have helped a lot!

Brilliant! That’s really good to know and should help a bunch of other people!
