Does anyone else enjoy the high pitch ringing in either ears.
Sometimes…but I don’t know if it is avm related. I do get an “ear to a seashell” effect sometimes…which is wierd. Usually when stressed or tired.
Thanks. Mine is my right ear and it rings all the time some time louder than others. I can’t remember if it was less or more when I was on Lamictol

lol, yep that and sometimes the annoying heartbeat sound
I don’t have an AVM but I get that, also. So I’m not sure if this is AVM or just something that happens. Mine isn’t constant, but my mom’s is and she said is notices it more when she goes to bed. So she always has to have the tv on which helps to drown it out.
I think it’s a condition called Tinnitus. There are a few types and many causes. Before I had my seizure I was studying audio and figured I had done some damage to my hearing. I went to the doctor complaining a pulsing in my ear. Nothing was found. I can be a bit of a hypochondriac and read it might be a symptom of an aneurism or abnormality of a vein or artery. After the seizure, the AVM and aneurism were found it made sense. I still get it from time to time but the CT looks clean so I am attributing to other causes.
I’m with you on that. It’s just annoying. I herd it’s possible to stop with meds but I’m done with Meds.
Thanks for the input though.

I agree with your mom the tv or any distraction helps. I know dead silence has it’s own but this is all the time.

I don’t enjoy it at all, it is so so aggravating, especially when it’s quiet and when I’m trying to sleep. I actually had the problem before the craniotomy, but it wasn’t as intense. I have a lot of swooshing, water and wind blowing sounds too. Taking any type of asprin makes it worse and I think salt makes it worse too. Listening to music with my headphones helps buffer the sound when I’m trying to sleep.
I Have had Tinnitus for as long as I can remember, too much loud music and power tools, but for the last few years as well as the ringing sounds I have hissing and lots of other noises especially on one side. This could be from my AVM? and is worse some times than others. It is annoying sometimes.

I never thought of it as a hissing noise as a matter a fact your right it goes back and fourth between the two and the loudness variation varies also. Thanks for the description. It won’t make it go away but Doc said I would enjoy it for along time.
The noises I do not enjoy are IN my OWN ears…Hissing, ringing, vibrating, ocean sounds and such. NEVER had such goings on until after the brain explosion and ensuing treatments.
Tinitus can come with age and from many sources. Envirinment (noise level and pressure), pharmacuticals from aspirin to blood pressure meds, anti-depressants, antibiotics, steroids and the list goes on…injuries to ear drum and nerves and other physical occurances…An experienced ENT is a good source of information and assistance as is an experienced audiologist. Nutrition can be a factor, even allergies. Fascinating topic to research as all parts are connected to make the whole.
ENJOYING this phenomen is beyond my grasp but if you discover a means by which to do so, please inform me…It all makes me efgey, irritated and frustrated…
One of my main symptoms that sent me to the doctor in the first place was pulsatile tinnitus (I could hear my heart beat in my right ear) some docs looked at me like I was off the deep end. It was a constant source of frustration, but luckily the embos cleared that up even though the AVM has not been obliterated yet (10 years and counting)
Ringing in the ears is always a wonderful this. It lets you know your alive.
If the ringing were to stop I would think something more serious was wrong.
I get it but not every day. I had it more after my gamma knife it would last for days. The doctors couldn’t tell me why exactly it was happening. Sorry I could nbe more helpfully.
