Scheduled for Embolization and Cyberknife

My radiation consult went well. I am scheduled for embolization on April 21. We are hoping it will only require one embo, but it could take two.

I will meet again with the radiation doctor on June 21 to assess and move toward Cyberknife radiation which will be performed at Wellstar North Fulton in Georgia. There will be two appointments — one to make the mask and one to do the radiation. My doctor for the radiation is the medical director, and he has quite a bit of experience with this procedure.

Wellstar was the first in Georgia to bring Cyberknife to patients and has been using the system since 2006.

So here we go. I am nervous but I really feel I have landed with a great neuro team. But I will say that this all still sucks and seems very surreal to me.

Yeah, I guess it is normal. It’s not like we’re dealing with ingrown toenails here.

I do have a great team. Definitely helps.
