Just to let you know, we are experimenting slightly with the style of the website / forum. If there are things you like about what you can see, do say. If there are things that are getting in the way, do let us know by reply what those are.
We had an old theme that was deprecated by Discourse, our hosting provider, in September, so we made a move to a new theme but that threw up a couple of challenges, so we added the “New Topic” button to the top of the page and have now moved to a second theme to try to fix an issue on very shallow, almost letterbox-shaped laptop screens but that haa led, for the moment, to not having the old home page. Is that an issue? Is that ok?
I’m not suggesting that we can take everyone’s views or needs into account but I know the things I like and the things I don’t particularly like but I’m just one person, so it is good to get input from you.

It all looks good to me!
One small thing - the header at the top of the page partially covers the search, add new topic, etc. right below it (image attached). You can still use them though.

That’s interesting that it is happening on your screen. Is that with the browser window fully across your screen?
I got the same when I put two of our websites next to each other but surely on a much bigger screen than yours. The reason it is happening is that the text in the purple banner is wrapping onto two lines.

I have a 27” screen fully open.
I’ve tried changing resolution, text size, everything I can think of, but nothing changed.
One thought - I’m using Windows 10 - not sure if that would make any difference, but wondering if the desktop settings might be a factor?

I’d appreciate it if you’d have a look around today and see that all is still well with how it looks on your screen. Rose has done a further adjustment and I’m hoping it leaves you still in the best position.
Please tell me what’s good about what you can see and please tell me of any difficulties that remain, even if you’ve mentioned them before.
Everything looks the same - the header still overlaps the search, etc.. And there’s a good listing of topics.
I have windows 11 on my laptop, and everything is fine there. Including the heading - no overlapping.
I asked a friend who has a PC with Windows 11 to have a look, and it’s all fine for her.
So, for me at least, it looks like the issue is with Windows 10.
And I’m okay with it.

I’m thinking the difference is more likely to be the resolution on the different screens: that the one you have the overlapping titles on is probably fewer pixels wide than the others. I’m also guessing that the new theme uses chunkier text for “AVM Survivors Network” (or whatever the text is that appears in the purple banner) which is why it is starting to wrap where it didn’t before.
None of this will affect just you so it is very helpful that you’ve been able to help us as you have.
My current plan is to see if we find any other issues, maybe adjust for them, and next week hopefully make one change that is the last change we do for a while.
