So I don't know if any of you are Greys anatomy fans but

tonight on greys anatomy there was a little boy who had an AVM and they couldnt afford this piece to operate to save his life and all the doctors wrote checks for it and built it and saved his life AVM it was nuts!!!

it was good but the AVM part was all so vague! It was driving me crazy that they didn’t explain it more!

I know but mcdreamy saved his life ha can save me anytime

Yes, I thought it was great that they featured an AVM. They kept mentioning “AVM” and “arteriovenous malformation” several times which is good for raising awareness but it wasn’t very informative as to what an AVM is. But I can’t complain too much. At least it was on a very popular show!

I know this is the 2nd time an avm patient has been on the show. But it was sad at first till the end. But they made it a bit dramatic telling the parents he will die. Guess they had to build suspense on the show right. And I agree with avmgirl not much info but i love when it gets mentioned on any show as well

Sad I missed it.

thought it was interesting that they said the only option was remove it. I was thinking, do an embolization followed up with some stereotatic radiation… come on! that’s common knowledge  You know I only watch the show because my wife MAKES me watch it…lol

Didn’t see it… Must admit I’m not the biggest fan of the show, but if I had been aware that it was on, then I probably would have watched it. Did anyone watch “Six Feet Under” when it used to be on HBO? My wife used to watch it all the time and as soon as the one brother was diagnosed with an AVM I just couldn’t watch the shpw anymore. It was all negative, and from what I saw of it, it looks like it was pretty vague.

I wish I had seen it. Good to let the population out there know about AVM’s. I understand alot of people have them; it’s only the us; 1% unlucky people that have bleeders. What amazes me was the generosity and kindness of the hospital staff; to pool together and show their generosity to save that child. For once a life meant more than a wage.

I have a problem with tv dramas. They’re almost always in ratings game.
