So, what now!? Post AVM Embolization

Mike,

She’s doing good. We’ve gone from literal snail’s pace walking to about 2 miles at a normal pace with just one rest along the way so far. So she’s doing nicely.

However, her experience of it is exactly the same eye-opening moment we’ve all had with an AVM: that our health is not something to take for granted. Consequently, it is making her re-evaluate what she wants to do, not least whether to retire a bit early. So I just wanted to prompt you to think similarly about the weight of exercise and work that you do because these things arrive quite unannounced. It’s good to know you got checked out ok :+1:t3:

Very best wishes,

Richard

Today marks the one year & ten month anniversary of my official diagnosis - people always have a thing for Friday the 13th, me on the other hand - I always thought way before this all happened, felt that Monday the 13th was the worst

Ever since my ER visit, I have been in/out - I feel energetic for a few hours, then I’m falling asleep at 7:30 & sleeping solid for 9-10 hours

Stress is definitely up - work is up & down constantly. I’m trying my best to pull back - but, work & working out has been my go to “thing” for over a decade.

From what I can tell, it has something to do with our insane Arizona heat - but, it’s not exactly linier. I’m trying my best to go with the flow - still, setting focus on a complete career change here in the near future. . . It’s a lot to deal with, but at least my physical health seems to be intact - just spoke at our/my friend’s/neighbor’s funeral < first time I have actually spoke at one. But, I felt like it’s my duty to give recognition where it is due - she & her mom were the first two 3rd party folks I seen after coming home from ICU. . . It just felt so intense for the fact it could have been the other way around

But, she’s not gone - not from my mind/memory. . . She, in her short time knowing me had made an impact that will last my lifetime(well, as long as memory serves me right).

Just a week past my 4 year anniversary of my embolization procedure

Still all intact

Just got a new job and most likely going to let my business go

Not that the new job is any physically easier. I took most of this summer off & just hoping for the best at this point. This is the longest I have been out of ER - hoping to keep that streak going

I get to be in charge of maintaining a set of these & some other heavy equipment.
