Hey I’m not sure if anyone else has had this problem or not, but social security is a stress. I have been fighting for almost a year all I want is social security while I go back to school and retrain for a job, which is more opproperate for my physical disabilities. according to social security I can still perform the duties of loss prevention, which include chasing suspects around retail stores never losing them on occasion man handling suspects who want to fight. I’m sure I could do that job with a weakened left side lol I always thought my left hand and leg were over-rated anyways.
HAHAH!!! Deric you are so right they are so over-rated!!! You mean to tell me you need full use of your limbs to deal with people who could put up a fight because they don’t want to get caught steeling? Come on! Be a man already! Geeze.
In all seriousness. Do you have a lawyer? If not maybe you could find a good cheep one. I think in most cases even a not so good lawyer can do more for you than you can do for yourself in situations like the one you’re in. I have a desk job so I can still do my job. Although now that I have gone back and everyone sees the fact I am physically well they think I am all well in the head. Well yes I am for the most part, but I still need to keep my work load light and deal with extremely stressful situations. Like right now I am doing work that should’ve been done in Jan. You know around the time when I had someone sawing into my skull, but you know I was out for a total of 6 months so I should be rip roaring and ready to go right??!! My vacation didn’t have white sand beaches or tropical drinks with little umbrellas in them.
Best of luck to you good man! I hope someone sees that you need a new profession and will give you help getting an education so you can find something you can do. Both physically and mentally.
Hi Deric,
I’m new to AVM Survivors, but a ‘veteran’ to AVM-land (argh!) and am hoping by now you’ve found help re: SSDI. If not, I’d encourage you to contact Allsup Inc. @ http://www.allsup.com/.
So you’ve had both AVM’s and cavernous angiomas/cavernous malformations??
I’m a cavernous malformation patient recovering from my 4th surgery which was in the right thalamus.
Be well,
Patti
