Hi everyone - I have a question. My son had his right temporal lobe AVM rupture 3 months ago. He had surgery and they removed a portion of his skull, which will be replaced in mid October, God willing. He is doing amazingly well and back to work part time. We thought everything was going to be great and we were over the worst part. They even removed him from Vimpat and Topamax for seizures (he suffered 3 seizures immediately after the rupture, and had a few sub clinical seizures since then). He now only takes 450mg of Tegretal twice a day. His surgery was on March 11, 2015. The past two weeks he has been experiencing some decreasing function in his left hand. Over the last few days he is also experiencing swelling in that hand as well. Has anyone else experienced this? When the injury first happened he did have slight weakness on the left side, but immediately gained the strength back. I don't understand why this is happening now. Has anyone else had this symptom?
