Just a reminder for anyone interested in attending the above walk, the first Sunday in May, please sign up on their website. You meet a lot of people from AVM Survivors and other sites. This is my 3rd time attending and I absolutely love it :). Hope to see some of you there. Any questions, please feel free to send me a message.
My daughter and I did the walk last year and it was amazing. It was so nice to meet other survivors and it just meant so much to us to be able to participate. I highly recommend going at least once. We were also the 3rd largest fundraisers for the walk which we were very proud of. I wish we could go again this year. Maybe next year!
Wish I could go, can't afford it. Would be really nice to meet other survivors. Feels like I am the only one in western massachusetts.
Hi MandyLou - Sorry you can't make it, but I completely understand that since it's across the country. You may want to join our New England group on here and see if there are some others from western Mass. you can also use the search box on the upper right hand side of the page and type in your town, or a larger city near you to find other AVM Survivors. Hope you are doing well today and thanks for responding :) Below is a link for the NE group.

I just saw on this group that there is a get together in Boston in June. You may want to check that out. Let me know if you have any other questions.
Thank you very much Debra, I will check out the link :)
Looking at coming from Ireland for the walk can any one advise me how to go about it all .i have an inoperable brain avm and aneurysms ,fighting this five years now .
Would it be poor form if I ran this?
@ Sgomez - If you mean, run instead of walk, that's fine. There are no rules about that. Does that mean you will be attending?? :) I certainly hope so Sgomez.
Right, I figured one of the main purposes would be to walk with others, share stories, provide support, etc. I thought that if I could challenge myself physically (by running) and also meet up with a group or something, that would be perfect!
That's great Sgomez. I'll probably wear a name tag, since I'm not sure what everybody looks like, so please look for me. Also, don't forget to register at the link on their website, so they have a pretty good idea of how many people might be attending. They do purchase, food and drink etc for us and the registration fee of $25 (I believe it's $25) gets you a t shirt and a small lunch, coffee, etc. Looking forward to meeting you.
Debra,
I, too, can not come to San Francisco for the walk, BUT, why not all AVM survivors, who can, walk, where EVER THEY LIVE, at the same time as the Annual AVM and Aneurysm Walk in SF?
What TIME will the walk start on 5/4? When you tell me, I WILL do my jogging at the same time as you all will in SF!
In 1990, when I suffered 2 strokes from 7 brain surgeries to correct my AVM, I was in rehab for over a year, but I got back to jogging. Beside that year of ½ paralyzation, I have been a runner/jogger/power walker for over 35 YEARS! Silly, silly ME! :-)

Hi Lisa - The walk starts a little after 10am on May 4th. The link below is info ono what you can do as your "own walk," particularly if you want to raise money. If not, that's okay too. I know you will be there in spirit:). Btw, that's awesome about your recovery. I would love to see some pictures posted too. Thanks for the comment and great idea that all AVM survivors would walk at the same time.
Hi Debra, Good for you for posting this notice of the walk. I think it's a great idea and I will be there in spirit. Actually I read your response to Lisa and I plan to make sure that I walk that day! Yay for you!
You are the best cheerleader I know :)I'm glad you will be walking too.
Yes indeed I wrote it on the calendar and thinking of me as a cheerleader ... cool :).
Debra,
You mentioned 'picture posted' in the note that you sent me, but I am not sure exactly what you meant. Do you want 'everyday' pics of me? I even have a pic someone in my family took right after 1 of my brain surgeries! Would you like to see something so crazy like THAT? :-)
Let me know, and I will see if I can.
Lisa
Hi Lisa - I was actually thinking you could post a picture of yourself the day of walk, May 4th. If you want to post pictures of yourself after surgery, etc, please feel free to do so.
I just tried, so hard, to FIND, the picture of me going thru my brain surgeries/strokes, but no luck, yet! I KNOW the picture IS somewhere on one of my sites, so eventually, I will try to find it! Hopefully, I will find it SOONER than LATER!!
For now, I think I just gave 2 portraits of myself.
Take care you all!
Lisa
