An update on my grandson Ryan: Do to a bleed that was discovered on Wed. (his 2nd in 2 wks) the dr's have decided that Gamma Ray is no longer an option. Ryan will now have the surgery that was originally deemed to be "too risky". His MRI yesterday showed no add'l bleeding or swelling which is the first good news we've had. Monday morning the first team of dr's will do an embolization and then Tues the second team will perform the craniotomy.
Information I have gained from this site has given me hope that a good outcome is possible.
Please pray for my grandson. His eighth birthday is Thursday and we want to celebrate it with him. Thanks to all of you for your input and support.
Our prayers are with you and your grandson, kk. I wish you the best possible outcome! Keep us posted.
Dancermom - It's such a weird thing. Tonight when we visited him he sat up in bed to watch a movie and played cards with us and won almost every hand. You could almost imagine that nothing at all was wrong.
Thank you for your prayers - they are most appreciated. - KK
That sounds like a good omen. :)
KK! Im sending you and your grandson happy thoughts and I will be crossing my fingers for him! Happy birthday Ryan and thank you for keeping us updated KK! xx LeaMi

Thoughts are with you and your grandson KK. Hoping for a positive week of procedures and topping it off with a great birthday for Ryan. Hang in there KK. Here's a big virtual hug for you and Ryan:-)
Thank you so very much. I am very encouraged by how well he's done that last couple of days. Now it's in God's hands and the surgeons.
KK, my thoughts & prayers are with you and Ryan. Also, Happy Birthday Ryan! I love that Ryan was able to be so relaxed to play cards & watch the movie..that can only be good! Please, keep us posted.
Thank you Leslie, I will.
Ryan will be in my thoughts kk. Very best wishes to him and a very happy birthday to him.
Prayers are being sent for healing for Ryan & peace for all of his cheerleaders! We love you and will be praying all day. Good Luck
Thank you Trish, Lisa and Ninibeth. First procedure went well (draining of fluid) now they are doing the embolization. Said it could take up to 4 hrs. I asked Ryan when they were putting him to sleep to visualize himself as a little ninja warrior with many weapons. His job was to lead the dr's to his AVM and show them exactly how to annihilate it. I just keep picturing him doing this and praising how brave he is and what a great job he is doing oh, and praying!
Ryan's embolization could not have gone better! Craniotomy scheduled for 7:30 am tomorrow.
Ill pray for Ryan … stay strong! Ryan will be ok!!
Thoughts are with you.
Thank you Brenda.
