Yesterday, I had these feelings...is so hard to explain. I felt like IO was 'blipping" or skipping seconds of time. I don't know if it associated with a seizure or not, but these episodes were sporadic, almost every 10-20 minutes and last for several hours, it would feel like I skipped. If I had anything in my hands. I would have dropped it.
I guess my reply did not go through. Have you ever had seizures? Are you on meds for them?
I have had some students with seizure disorders that sound similar to what you are describing. In fact I coached one girl whose mom literally had to yell at her to bring her back during matches. She would be there one second and literally spacing out the next.
I say you need a trip to your neurologist.
Yes, I have seizures, I had 4 grand mal's last year. I have a brain avm that was treated with gamma knife and ended up with partial epilepsy. I'm currently taking Lamictal, something I'm finally tolerating.
Hi Zilly,
That sounds like a seizure to me. I have an old friend that would lose minutes of time when she was seizing. You had to know her well to tell she was seizing. She could carry on an entire conversation and when she came out of it -- she could not remember a thing, not one word that was said. The indicator for us that she was having a seizure was - she would rub her hands together and play with her fingers and.. she would rarely blink (her eyes).

Morning--
I know some of what you are describing--I do not believe that I have ever had a seizure, but I do miss gaps of time--sometimes it feels like I am dreaming but I know I am awake. It is an inquiet and disturbing sensation! It sounds disruptive, so please keep writing about it here and hopefully some good will come from it. Can you call your doctor and explain it over the phone if you were not able to do that already?
I explained my episodes a few years ago, and the medical staff did not seem to think it was a seizure, but possibly a skip in my heart, or the bruits in my cerebral AVM causing them--they could not see any additional problems on the MRI/CAT scan. There is so much that AVM sufferers have to deal with that cannot be diagnosed or alleviated through medical treatments.
Please take care and I hope that you find some relief from this. Hope you have a good and pain-free day--
