I just recently joined this website after coming across it the other day. It’s good to know there are other people out there that deal with the same things you are. I was diagnosed with an AVM in the pons region of my brain in 2008. I basically went to the Dr. because I was having trouble swallowing. I went through all the GI tests and blood work and spinal tap before they found this AVM on a MRI. I was just wondering if there was anybody who has been diagnosed with an AVM in the same region of brain who has the same symptoms as me. My swallowing has not gotten any better if anything it has gotten worse. I’ve done research and dysphagia dosen’t seem to be one of the common symptoms. I would love to meet someone who has possibly had the same problems.
Hi Tim and welcome to the group. I’m in NC too but I have to say I’ve not heard of Sandy Ridge, where is it? I’m just outisde of Raleigh. As far as your question: If you go to the discussions tab and do a search of “pons region”, you’ll see 2 other posts besides yours. You can read those and perhaps reach out to those members for more specific advice. If I were more computer saavy I would have copied the link, but I’m just not as quick as I used to be! Good luck to you and I’m glad you found us.
Hey Trish,
Thanks for responding, and the advise. Sandy Ridge is a small town about 1hour north of Winston-Salem in Stokes Co. We can throw a rock at Virginia. Thanks again.
