Back in January of this year my son was hopitalized with aspirated pneumonia, he also suffered a seizure and then his heart stopped, but they were to resuscitate him.
They to put a breathing tube in him for two days , he was in ICU. Ever since then my son can’t chew his chaw is so weak, his swallowing is really bad, they to put him on a special diet, everything has to be mushed up and he can’t feed himself anymore.
My son has to watched 24/7 he can’t go anywhere on his own.
It has been a nightmare , I always ask why my son , he is only 25 yrs old and had no life, he is living in long term care, my heart breaks for him.
@Woodstock What you and your son are moving through is indescribable, unthinkable. I am praying that peace and pure love fill and surround you both. That people come out of the woodwork to speak encouraging words to you when you need them. That friends and the world around you show up to hold you and be with you in the moments that no words suffice. You are not alone, and you are an incredible mother. Thank you for being here, and for being who you are.
The message on my little teabag note right now is: “Be fearless; know that all will be provided at the right time.” I wish I could post a picture of it!
I have a pelvic AVM, extremely rare. Without a long monologue, without a doubt, Dr. ROBERT ROSEN IS THE BEST INTERVENTIONAL RADIOLOGIST IN THE WORLD. HE DID ABOUT 15 SURGERIES FOR ME. IT BEGAN IN 1990 AND FOR THE MOST PART, ENDED IN 2008. HE SAVED MY LIFE. Lenox Hill. I was with him at NYU MED CENTER. ANY QUESTIONS, PLEASE LET ME KNOW AS IVE BECOME AN EXPERT OVER THE YEARS. ALL THE BEST!
Welcome Woodstock! I hope we are able to provide some support to you and your son, we have a lot of incredible people here with a lot of challenges and experience. I am from Canada, and actually graduated High School in Gander but haven’t been back for a lot of years! Please tell us more, location of AVM, what support you have received, any potential treatment options etc…we have some amazing Drs and facilities in Canada that will do a second opinion. My thoughts are with you and your son, as a parent of a 21 and 19 year olds I can only imagine the emotions, we are here for you and your son. John.
I am glad you are here. My heart breaks for you. We have been through a horrifying experience with our 19 year son who has an AVM. No parent should ever have to see what our family has seen with our son. It has been a very difficult journey. Your family will be in my thoughts and prayers. Please message me if I can help.
@Woodstock sorry to hear about your son and the tough time he has endured… sending prayers out he gets better as he is still young and strong… God bless!
